Low-tech Exercise Equipment for Dogs

Since you’re going to be out enjoying the warmer weather, here are some helpful products, equipment, toys, etc. to think about getting to make things more safe, fun, and enjoyable!  NOTE: I found all of these items in my latest Doctors Foster and Smith Catalog, so that is where the links come from.  I do not get paid to link to their site, I just personally thought these were great ideas for the summer months coming up. *UPDATE 2020: I checked all my previous links to Doctors Foster and Smith, and they all forwarded to Petco. So, all links have been updated below to Petco Searches for the products. I still do NOT get paid for linking to their site.  Feel free to take these ideas and price around on your own.   A lot of local pet supply stores will carry these or similar products, so support your local stores, too!

Low-tech equipment

  1. Reflective and LED Light-up Collars and Lead.  Great for walking/running during early morning hours before the sun comes up, or enjoying a nightly stroll under the light of the moon ;-P Steady-glow or flashing LEDs make your dog visible up to 1,000 feet away.
  2. iFetch Interactive Dog Toy. Automatic ball launcher – three launching distances to choose from.  Runs on batteries or plugs into wall outlet.
  3. Good2Go Cooling Dog Vest.  Just dip in cold water, wring out, and place on your pet.  Cools back and chest simultaneously.   Multiple sizes available.
  4. Cooling Dog Beds or Pads. Indoor/outdoor beds fill easily with tap water for soft, cooling comfort. Cool bed insert is reusable/refreezable and allows up to 8 hours of cooling relief. Cool Pads have gel that keeps your dog cool when they lay on it.
  5. Dog Backpacks. Lightweight, breathable, adjustable, durable grip handles and reflective accents.
  6. Dog Life Jackets. A must for our Lake Murray Pups!  Keep your dog safe while boating!

I hope you find these products helpful 🙂  Now, get your gear, get out there, and have fun this summer!
