Fitness Gadgets For Your Dog

I know you’ve been using the latest “fitness gadgets” for your New Year’s Resolution to get fit (you’re still keeping it, right? ;-P) Whether it’s Fitbit, iFit, or just an app on your phone – us humans have incorporated technology into getting healthy.  Well, the dog world is jumping on board, too.  Here are some fitness gadgets for your dog so you can include them in on the fun! 😀 These are all Fitness Activity monitors your dog wears so you can monitor their exercise levels.  Some of these may have service plans involved so be sure to check the fine print!

  • Whistle activity monitor; $99.00, Whistle Website; Attach it to your dog’s collar, it will do the monitoring, then send automatic updates to your smartphone.   You can even set a daily goal if you want.
  • Fitbark activity monitor; $99.95, Fitbark Website; This little monitor slides over any collar (up to 30 mm wide); Blue-tooth enabled and compatible with iOS or Android; It’s rechargable and waterproof, too! Monitors rest, activity, and play time.  You can add-on a Wi-Fi Base Station for $79.95, which helps if you have multiple dogs, run a doggie-daycare, or your dog is home alone.
  • Tagg GPS Pet Tracker; $79.95 (regularly $99.95); Tagg Website; This gizmo is two-fold: it helps track your dog if he gets separated from you, but it also monitors their activity level.  It’s durable, rechargable, and waterproof; there is a service plan involved.
  • Voyce; $299.00; Voyce Website;  While on the higher-end, this gadget has a bit more included in the price.  Not only does it monitor your dog’s activity level, you will have access to the Voyce Online Member Portal.  This portal provides: medical record storage; goal setting; reminders for vaccinations, appointments or events; a library of informational articles and more.

So, if you have been a bit slack on your resolution to get fit this year (*ahem*), I hope this helps motivate you to get going again.  If you’ve been good, I’m proud of ya ;-P  Have fun and get moving!
